In the lead up to Valentine’s Day, pupils can choose a ‘Blind Date with a Book’. Selected books are wrapped, and given an age rating and brief description, for pupils to choose something a bit different. If they return them with a short book review, and ‘rate their date’, they will receive a Valentine-themed sweet treat. As the saying goes – never judge a book by its cover, and this is a great way to increase and vary children’s reading habits.
