Purple Up Day

Purple Up Day, which will take place on Friday 24 April, as part of the Month of the Military Child.

Purple Up Day is a national awareness initiative that recognises and celebrates children from Armed Forces families. These children often experience unique challenges, such as parental deployment, frequent moves, and transitions between schools.

The day provides an opportunity for schools to acknowledge their resilience and to show visible support for Service children within our community.

To mark Purple Up Day, students are invited to wear a small item of purple alongside their normal school uniform on Friday 24 April. This may include, for example, a purple jumper, ribbon, socks, or other subtle accessory. There is no expectation for full non-uniform, and participation is optional.

Purple has been chosen as it represents all branches of the Armed Forces, combining the individual service colours, and wearing it is a simple but meaningful way for our school community to show inclusivity and support.
