Year 11 Netball League

The girls played out of their skins at the netball league yesterday. They probably faced their most difficult competition of the league so far. But they have really come into their own, Cerys now holds her space beautifully, which allows Immi and Leah to place beautiful high balls into the circle, for Cerys to score from.
As always, Lucy pops the ball in for fun from anywhere in the circle. The defence makes it hard for the other team to score, and although we still need to work on backline passes, the girls really work hard at bringing the ball out of defence and up the court. The first game was very close against QE, but the girls managed to win 6V5, the second game was against St Edwards. This was end-to-end stuff, goal for goal. We did at one point get into the lead, but St Edwards did not give up, and we ended up drawing 8V8. Poole High was the girls' third game.
The opposition were very tall and could jump, so we had to slightly change our game, trying not to take many overhead balls. It was difficult to get the ball into Cerys in this game, but Lucy took the shots, and didn’t miss. We managed to score just before the bell and win this 10v9. Our last game was against the notorious Parkstone, and although the girls did not win this, they exceeded the target that we had set. There were tired legs in this game, but they did not give up, and in the second half they came out fighting, and did themselves proud. Another good afternoon of netball. Well done girls!!!
