The Charlotte Hosker Scholarship Trust
The Charlotte Hosker Scholarship Trust has been established in the memory of Charlotte Hosker who died of meningitis at the age of 12 years. Charlotte never had the opportunity to fulfil her ambitions in life. The Trust will, in particular, support female students with an ambition to pursue a technical career.
AIMS of the Trust:
•To promote female participation in Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM)
•Supporting disadvantaged students to establish a career in STEM
•University bursary scholarships to students seeking a career in STEM
•Financial support students who may be disadvantaged in maintaining sixth form study
•Open to qualifying students from The Purbeck School in Wareham
•Supporting The Purbeck School in maintaining a centre of excellence for STEM subjects

CHST STEM Awards
In July 2026 the CHST will be awarding prizes to Y7-10 female students at The Purbeck School in recognition of attainment and participation across Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics and Design Technology.

In June 2026 CHST granted the school funds to be able to take a group of Y9 female scientists to this esteemed day at The RNLI
CHST main sponsor for School Science Fair
In March 2026, The Purbeck School welcomed over 600 visitors on the annual This community event, put on by the school for the local community, was a huge hit.
CHST supports female Maths Enrichment University Day
In April 2026 CHST gave funds to the school to enable a group of female Y12 Mathematics students to participate in Southampton University’s Maths Enrichment Day.
